Dr. Marie-Josée Potvin holds a bachelor degree in Engineering Physics from Polytechnique Montréal, a master’s in Mechanical Engineering from Queen’s University, and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from McGill University. Over her career at the Canadian Space Agency, she has been an instructor for astronauts, teaching them how to use Canadarm 2, she has worked on the Herschel satellite, as well as the Radarsat Constellation, has been heading development programs aimed at using composite materials in space, and for the last 10 years, has also been responsible for the training of young engineers coming into the Canadian Space Agency, ensuring they become key players of the Canadian space sector.
