Nivedita Raju

McGill University
LLM Student
I am an LLM candidate and Arsenault Fellow at the McGill Institute of Air and Space Law. My LLM Thesis explores the need to regulate rocket emissions in light of adverse environmental impact. My interests in space law focus on the sustainability of outer space and permissible military uses of outer space. I have represented McGill University at the Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition earlier this year, winning the North American Regional round and was also awarded Best Oralist at the Qatar Airways/McGill Intramural Air Law Speed Moot Court Competition. Prior to McGill, I was an Associate at Gagrats Advocates & Solicitors, India’s leading aviation law firm. My articles on air and space law have been published in renowned journals including the Kluwer Journal of Air and Space Law and the German Journal of Air and Space Law. I am presently a Research Assistant for the Manual on International Law Applicable to Military Uses of Outer Space, which will be published in 2020.
